Let's talk a little about tag sizes. Never go by the tag size only. The tag size really is just that & a tag size as provided by the manufacturer which represents the size for that particular cut and brand. As you know & every brand is cut differently. The measurements on each tag will vary greatly with every brand and with that in mind, it is always best to use measurements as your guide, not the tag size. As you probably already know, you might be a size 14 in one brand and a size 16 in another.
Each item description includes actual measurements taken from the item. The following information describes the manner in which the actual measurements are taken. If you want to make sure you get the right size, take your favorite top, skirt or pants and check the measurements using these techniques, you can't go wrong!
Bust or Chest - I measure straight across the outer front of the garment from side seam to side seam, directly below the underarm area.
Sleeve - I measure from the underarm seam down seam to end of sleeve of cuff.
Length - For shirts, tops and dresses, I measure from the back of neckline where collar attaches to the hem. For skirts, I measure from the waistband to the hem, along the side seam if possible.
Waist - I measure around the inside waistband, leaving waistband as relaxed as possible.
Rise - I measure from the midpoint of the crotch (the point at which all seams come together) to top of waistband.
Inseam - I measure from the midpoint of the crotch (the point at which all seams come together) down inside leg seam to end of pant/jean leg.
